The hands of an old lay counting money

“Money! Money!”

I’m in Nusa Lembongan, an island within half an hour by boat from Bali. I’m running around on the streets of the country on my scooter. I drive down a street which looks like it has been decorated for festivity, there are some temples and the children are coming out of school. I decide to stop and take pictures. The children in uniform pass beside me laughing, they look at me, and with the typical gesture of somebody who’s handling cash with two fingers, they scream at my face:

“Money! Money!”

I thought I was a person, I just discovered that I am only money.

Nice…
